Reiki
Reiki (pronounced “ray-key”) is a stress reduction technique that also promotes healing. The word Reiki is derived from two Japanese characters, Rei meaning “Higher Power” or “Universal” and Ki meaning “life force energy”. Reiki therefore is actually “Universal Life Force Energy”.
Reiki is a hands-on relaxation technique and is based on the idea that life force energy flows through everything and everyone. If this “life force energy” becomes low or blocked, we experience illness or stress. Reiki works to gently remove blockages and to balance the whole person physically, emotionally and spiritually. The benefits include feeling a sense of well being, relaxation and calmness.
Benefits of Reiki Include
- Stress Reduction – Reiki induces deep relaxation, alleviating stress and promoting mental clarity and emotional balance.
- Pain Management – Many individuals find relief from physical pain and discomfort through Reiki sessions.
- Enhanced Well-being – Reiki supports overall wellness, enhancing your body’s ability to heal itself.
- Improved Energy Flow – This practice rebalances energy flow in the body, promoting vitality and inner peace.
Reiki therapy also works well in conjunction with Western Medicine. Because it works to support the body’s ability to heal itself, it is an excellent compliment to all medical or therapeutic modalities. Reiki is used in hospitals and hospice settings worldwide.
